Did Jesus Die
on Friday? |
|
THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS
Most Christians still believe the Catholic tradition that Jesus was
crucified on Good Friday, which is only two days and two nights if Saturday
night is counted. There are serious problems with this, not the least of
which is that Jesus said he would be 3 days and 3 nights in the tomb. One
thing is certain: If Jesus said 3 days and 3 nights - that's what it was!
Complicating the matter is that the Jewish people reckoned their days from
sunset to sunset, whereas we reckon our days from midnight to midnight.
Adding to the confusion, there were two Sabbaths in play at the time.
Below are 2 theories, both of which rule out a Friday Crucifixion day.
